MONDAY 7/24/17 CALLS TO ACTION: Another way to sabotage the ACA

FEDERAL:

Trump administration scraps Obamacare signup assistance in 18 cities“Two companies — McLean, Virginia-based Cognosante and Falls Church, Virginia-based CSRA — will no longer help with the sign-ups following a decision by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (which falls under DHHS) officials not to renew a final option year of the vendors’ contracts.”

“But community advocates expected the vendors’ help for at least another year. “It has our heads spinning about how to meet the needs in communities,” said Inna Rubin of United Way of Metro Chicago, who helps run an Illinois health access coalition.”

Charlotte is one of the affected cities.

If the Trump administration can’t kill the ACA in Congress they’ll hobble it so as to make it unsustainable or just plain inaccessible. Then they can say it collapsed rather than what really happened: SABOTAGE.

Call all three members of Congress, Burr, Tillis & Walkerto let them know that cutting short this program will make it harder on people who may not have the ability or the knowledge to enroll in a health insurance plan without assistance. As members of Congress they all are charged with doing things that will help their constituents, not harm them. Closure of this program in NC will indeed cause harm.

State Board of Elections is seeking public comments through July 31, 2017 on dozens of draft rules that affect various aspects of election administration.
