THURSDAY 4/6/17 CALLS TO ACTION: Take him down.

Don’t forget the Randolph County Democratic Convention on Saturday April 8th.

We’ve known for years that Bill O’Reilly is a sexual predator and all around bad human being. While it’s nice to see him finally getting a little comeuppance, some businesses are still just fine with advertising on his show and therefore putting money in his and Fox’s pockets. Below is a list of companies still advertising on The O’Reilly Factor. Let them know how you feel about that.

Sample email/script:

Hello,
I am writing to let you know that your company has been documented as running advertisements for Fox News’s “O’Reilly Factor” since news came out that Bill O’Reilly has settled multiple sexual harassment suits. O’Reilly also has a long history of using hateful language toward women and minorities. Most recently he disrespected Congresswoman Maxine Waters, joking that she was wearing a “James Brown wig.” These actions and attitudes are repulsive, and I hope you wouldn’t want your company to be associated with it. Have you pulled your ads from The O’Reilly Factor? Can you commit to pulling your advertisements from his show?
Thank you.
Your name.

Send a postcard to FOX about O’Reilly’s comments about Rep. Maxine Waters.

Address: 1211 Ave. of the Americas, New York, NY 10036 or email.

Script: What’s in Maxine Waters’ head matters more than what’s on it. (If you’re a Republican or a viewer, mention this.) FOX owes America and Ms. Waters more than an apology for passing off misogyny and racism as humor.

STATE:

A little more than two weeks after a three-judge panel threw out a new state law combining oversight of state elections and ethics enforcement, leading Republican House members are pushing a revised version of the plan. It is yet another partisan power grab and voter suppression tactic by Republicans in the NCGA because they can’t stand not having all three branches sewed up and under their control.

Lawmakers revive plan for combined state elections, ethics board

House GOP tries again on overhaul of elections oversight

SCRIPT:

Hi, I am a constituent from __________ and I am calling to urge Rep./Sen. _____________ to oppose the new bill that would remove power from Governor Cooper in regards to boards of elections. North Carolinians are tired of pure partisan power grabs.
