MONDAY 6/5/17 CALLS TO ACTION: These are taxing times we live in.

FEDERAL:

Trump has filed for an extension of his 2016 tax return – “The returns are the subject of much speculation, as they would provide insight into Trump’s financial ties and potential conflicts of interest. Trump is the first president in decades to not release his tax returns.”

Here’s an interesting theory as to why Trump only released his 2005 tax returns. – “Trump married a non-citizen in 2005. Why that matters is that as her sponsor, and joint filer, their joint returns were required to be made available to the federal government in order for her to remain here on a Greencard, and again to get her citizenship. You have to show that you have no problems with the IRS to become naturalized.”

Call your Senators, Richard Burr and Thom Tillis:

Hi, I am a constituent from __________ and I am calling to urge Sen. _____________ to support or sponsor a bill to force Presidents to release their tax returns. With so many ethics questions and open investigations about the administration, we need to see those returns. Thank you for taking my call.

TOWN HALLS:

Town Halls: Our illustrious Senators in Washington are still not wanting to have town halls to meet their constituents face to face. They talk tough, but they seem to have feathers on their legs. Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to ask them in person why they are dragging their feet on an investigation in to Trump’s ties to Russia or what they plan to do about healthcare now that the House’s replacement for the ACA crashed and burned. The telephone town halls Senator Tillis is so fond of are an easy way to ignore the concerns of citizens.
