Protest Carpool & Upcoming for April

Believe it or not, this is a busy time of year for us! We want to offer you some hopeful events and activities to help keep you occupied and engaged during this time when it feels like everything is awful.

No Kings March for Freedom – Saturday, April 19 at noon. Hosted by Guilford County Indivisible. Participants from Randolph County can meet at the Asheboro Library at 10:30am to carpool. Please arrive a little early to get the carpool situation worked out. Drivers and passengers needed! Bring signs and your American flags.

Sunday April 20 – Happy Easter!

Saturday, April 26 – Randolph County Democratic Convention at Democratic HQ, 114 Sunset Ave, Asheboro. Social time starts at 9:30, Convention begins at 10:00am sharp. If you were elected as a delegate at your precinct meeting, you are encouraged to attend, but all Randolph Dems are invited. Join us that morning to be a delegate to the 9th District Convention in May.

Tuesday, April 29 – Habitat for Humanity Celebrity Breakfast, 8;00am at Pinewood Country Club, 247 Pinewood Rd, Asheboro. Dale McClain has reserved a table that he would like to have filled with local Democrats. Habitat was President Jimmy Carter’s favorite charity and it would be a fitting tribute to his memory to have plenty of Dems in attendance. If you’d like to attend, please drop Dale an email at dmccl11@yahoo.com and let him know (or just reply to this email).

Anytime Activities

NCDP is holding a virtual phone bank to recruit volunteers. If you’d like to help out, please sign up on Mobilize.

NCDP/Project 100 is also holding Thom Tillis Accountability Canvasses during the months of April and May. You will be talking to people with high DNC support and/or turnout scores about the proposed cuts to Medicaid and Social Security and Tillis’ failed record in Raleigh as Speaker of the NC House and DC. If you are interested in participating in a nearby canvass, please visit the KnockNC Linktree for links. We will try to get one set up for Randolph County too, so keep an eye on your email for details.
