2017 County Convention – Randolph Co. Democratic Party April 8

The Randolph County Democratic Party will hold its annual convention on Saturday, April 8, in Courtroom 1A of the Randolph County Courthouse, 176 E. Salisbury St., Asheboro.

Doors will open for registration and social hour at 9 a.m. and the convention will be called to order at 10 a.m. The convention is expected to adjourn at approximately 11:30 a.m.

Delegates were elected at precinct meetings that have recently taken place around the county. All registered Democrats are invited to attend the convention, even if they were unable to participate in precinct meetings, but voting is limited to elected convention delegates.

Delegates will choose county party officers for the 2017-19 term of office as well as delegates to district and state conventions. The convention will discuss local, state and national issues and adopt resolutions pertaining to them. Among these will be a resolution regarding the possible Klan event in Asheboro on May 6.
