Governor Cooper’s budget included a free community college proposal called NC GROW. New county-by-county data show that if the NC GROW scholarship were in place for the 2016 school year, more than 51,000 recent high school graduates would have been eligible for the program if they had unmet needs and the right grades.

We need this plan for Randolph County to continue to be competitive in attracting businesses and jobs and I urge the Sen/Rep to support it.

The industry wants to drill in one of the most amazing and productive fishing habitats in the world, in very deep water where accidents could have catastrophic effects on our fish and wildlife, beaches, estuaries — and existing coastal communities, businesses and traditions. It’s just not worth the risk.”

Call the Governor’s office and let him know you oppose plans to drill off the NC coast.

Democratic Women’s Meeting – May 20th at our temporary HQ 803 W. Salisbury St. Asheboro, NC This is the regular meeting for the Democratic Women of Randolph County. We ask that you bring a breakfast item to share and a friend to share it with!  Membership Drive is currently underway and we encourage anyone interested in becoming a member should come to this meeting. This is a slight deviation from our schedule, it was voted on at this past meeting that because of the conflict with a major holiday we would move the meeting up.
