The GOP ACA REPEAL AND REPLACE PLAN

The GOP released its much heralded, secretly crafted health care plan, and it’s a bust. Huge parts of the country could be left off of coverage, and the bill specifically targets Planned Parenthood, even though the federal government is already barred from providing funding for abortion services. This bill pretty much takes the parts of the ACA which needed to be fixed and makes them exponentially worse. Proof positive that the only things the GOP has in mind is giving a huge handout to insurance companies while sticking it to working people in this country.

HB 200:
Without fair districts, we cannot have fair elections. By now, we have all learned about the corrosive effect of race-based gerrymandering on the political process in North Carolina. This is not a partisan issue, and we need to take redistricting out of the hands of the legislature. HB 200 would create a truly independent, nonpartisan board that would draw fair lines. Please call the your state house rep and Senator and urge them to support independent redistricting.

Save Our Health Care Rally Greensboro

Rally to support the ACA in Greensboro!
The NC Justice Center and the Beloved Community Center are arranging an event on behalf of the “Save My Care” bus tour which has been traveling across the country during the last 6 weeks. They are coming through NC this week and will be holding a press event on Wednesday (March 8) at 11:00 at the Beloved Community Center, 417 Arlington St. Please come and show your support for the ACA!
