Primary Democratic Challengers to Rep. Richard Hudson to Discuss Local Issues & Impacts in Virtual Forum
ARCHDALE, NC — On Sunday, March 1st, 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm, the Archdale-Trinity Precinct of the Randolph County Democratic Party will host a virtual candidate forum for the Democratic primary candidates for North Carolina’s US House 9th Congressional District currently held by Richard Hudson. As the March 3rd primary approaches, candidates Loren Bibler, Nigel Bristow, Lent Carr II, and Richard Ojeda will address the specific ways federal policy—and the 14-year record of incumbent Rep. Richard Hudson—are impacting the families and businesses of Randolph County and District 9.
The forum will move beyond generic party platforms to tackle the “kitchen table” anxieties of this “purple” rural district. Candidates will be pressed on:
- Immigration: How to balance federal immigration and local economic needs.
- Tariffs: How to address the local impacts of federal tariffs on Randolph County manufacturers and farmers.
- Rural Survival: Strategies to prevent federal healthcare and infrastructure funds from being “swallowed” by large urban centers while rural clinics struggle.
- The Farm Bill: Providing a vision for the next generation of farmers facing high-tech equipment costs and corporate land buyouts.
This forum is about finding a US House Representative who will fight for District 9, not just a national party agenda in Washington.
